1. Introduction 

After watching this video, you will be familiarized with what computers are and their parts. You will learn about when you use them along with how to use them. You will learn about both the benefits and drawbacks of computers.  You will also be taught how computers have played a vital role in our lives and will be challenged to imagine how daily tasks that we now take for granted were performed before the introduction of computers and the internet

The main benefits of using a computer are:

  1. Before Computers:
    1. We used to write documents by hand or using a typewriter
    2. We used to do calculations using a calculator and our own brain
    3. We used to ask other people or read books for information
    4. We used to communicate with others by visiting them and by phone
    5. We used to store everything on paper
  1. Issues we had before computers:
    1. Documents had to be stored – and they get destroyed over time
    2. Our brain has limited capacity in doing calculations
    3. Books are not easily available
    4. People don’t know everything we need to know
    5. We could only meet people locally
  1. How the computer has changed our lives:
    1. Computer storage is bigger, and doesn’t get destroyed
    2. Computers can do calculations much faster than us and calculators
    3. Computers can do bigger and repetitive calculations
    4. It is very easy to change things using computers
    5. With Internet, we can find information from all over the world
    6. We can communicate with people far away using email
    7. Computers save us a lot of paper

ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್‌ಗಳ ಮೊದಲು:

  1. ನಾವು ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಅಥವಾ ಟೈಪ್‌ರೈಟರ್ ಬಳಸಿ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆವು
  2. ನಾವು ಕ್ಯಾಲ್ಕುಲೇಟರ್ ಮತ್ತು ನಮ್ಮ ಮೆದುಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆವು

  4. ನಾವು ಇತರರನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿ ಮಾಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಮತ್ತು ಫೋನ್ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಂವಹನ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆವು
  5. ನಾವು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಕಾಗದದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆವು

ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್‌ಗಳ ಮೊದಲು ನಾವು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳು:

  1. ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿತ್ತು – ಮತ್ತು ಅವು ಕಾಲಾನಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ

ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿದೆ:

  1. ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಣೆ ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಾಶವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ
  2. ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್‌ಗಳು ನಮಗಿಂತ ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ಯಾಲ್ಕುಲೇಟರ್‌ಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬಹುದು
  3. ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್‌ಗಳು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮತ್ತು ಪುನರಾವರ್ತಿತ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬಹುದು
  4. ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಬಳಸಿ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸುವುದು ತುಂಬಾ ಸುಲಭ
  5. ಇಂಟರ್ನೆಟ್ ಮೂಲಕ, ನಾವು ಪ್ರಪಂಚದಾದ್ಯಂತದ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದು

After watching the videos above, students can apply what they have learned in their daily lives. The introduction of computers and the internet have made millions of lives easier. In school, students use calculators to solve equations and they do not need to depend on their brains. Students can also use the internet to get answers to questions when they are not in school which helps with not only being able to finish assignments but also to better understand what they are learning. The demand for goods has also come down, for example, the demand for watches and maps have come down as computers and other devices provide us with a GPS and the time. Technology has completely changed our lives making it much easier to communicate and look for information, but we should never forget about how it has also caused a decline in the demand for goods and has led to people losing their jobs.
